Meet our new colleague! Marlene Jara Portocarrero has recently joined our data science team.
Marlene holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. During her career, she applied untargeted approaches such as transcriptomics and metabolomics to characterize biological processes under stressful conditions.
“Among all the omics, I particularly like metabolomics because the metabolome is closer to the phenotype, and therefore can bring insights to understand a broad spectrum of biological processes, either in the context of fundamental or clinical research.”
In her free time, Marlene likes to go for a run, edit funny videos or engage in DIY projects.
